A Personal Message from Gary Gould

December 9, 2008   1:30PM Pacific Time

Hello friends, thanks to a friend and fellow Turner/Renaissance enthusiast in Chicago I may finally get this website stuff figured out.    There is nothing about this computer stuff that comes easy to me.    It has to be hammered in, over and over again.   Thanks John for your patience!   I want to post your custom Renaissane Bass here soon, maybe even a vid or audio clip?

I will be attempting to post some Turner stuff from time to time, Rick gives me some great nuggets occasinally and now I’ll be able to post them and get this info out to those that would like to have the information.    Rick is a terrific writer, he used to have monthly articles in several publications.

Also I plan to go through my archive of sold instruments and put them into my gallery.    Some truely beautiful instruments have passed through my “I AM NOT WORTHY” hands, stolen from Mike Myers Wayne’s World.

Rick’s production has slowed a bit, 3 Model 1’s per month as compared to 10 per month 6 months ago, and about 6 to 8 Renaissance instruments per month.    This will only make them more sought after.    Today’s economics make it very difficult for all of the small guitar builders, but, fortunately for us Rick will continue building beautiful instruments for us to play on stage or in bedrooms, living rooms and garages.

Of the 3 Rick Turner Renaissance instruments the RS12B-HI and the RN-6 Sunburst have been sold.   I will be recieving the RN-6-H-HI tomorrow 12/10/2008.   I do not expect it to last long.    The Hybrids are such fantastic instruments, I think most guitar players don’t want to try a nylon string because of the wide necks.    With the hybrid they feel right at home, feels more like a guitar neck.

Some consignments will be coming my way, a 71′ Martin 12String, and an AER Acousticube III.

Roger Giffin guitars continues to build beautiful instruments after some 45 years in the business. He’s built guitars for most all of our guitar heroes.

Roger builds about 3 instruments per month, I am lucky enough to snag about 4 to 6 per year.    Right now I have a Giffin Standard in stock and a Model T coming out of the shop soon.

Talos Amplifiers, built by Doug Weisbrod produces one of the finest amplifiers out there. Very small production company, putting out just a few amps every month. If you haven’t heard of them check their website www.talosinstruments.com

My business has never been to stock hundreds of instruments. I stock generally between 2 to 15 guitars, a couple of amps. Mainly I’m in the special order business. If there is something that you’ve always wanted but it just never came up, maybe its time to custom build a Turner or Giffin Guitar.
